If I am making veggy meals, I make sure all vegetables are sliced and well-preserved and if I am making any sauce or stew with rice, I ensure they are both ready so I will just  boil my rice and microwave the stew the following morning.

If you are not an early-riser, these tips will really save you from being late for work. Although you might be very tired after the day hard work, but what I normally do is to sleep for some hours and wake up before midnight and do the dishes. The few hours of sleep will ensure you are a little rested and ready to do some other works.

So take the time to do the dishes, slice your vegetables, cook your stew or lay out your children lunch bag.

My painful Experience with severe morning sickness (Hyperemesis Gravidarum).

My painful journey with severe morning sickness (Hyperemesis Gravidarum).

In the later part of 2016, I became pregnant with “my sweet ones.” The twin pregnancy was long, hard and tortuous. I was one of those few women who wonder why some women are so ill and very lazy during pregnancy. Well, since I had a first child whose pregnancy was seamless.

I would judge every mother who will sleep all day or vomit all day as being lazy and trying to abstain from duties by pinning illness to pregnancy.

Come on, I finally learnt very hard when I became pregnant with my sweet ones.

I experienced and got to understand pregnancy from varying angles. I got to understand that pregnancy can change your own body in a way that is absolutely unbelievable.

I realize that not all of us experience pregnancy in the same degree of difficulty, that some women will never actually understand the full meaning of morning sickness gone sour.

Like for real, I remained permanently ill all throughout my pregnancy.

To cut the story, here are the list of A-Z unbelievable things that happened to me month by month during my twin pregnancy.

  • In the first one to three months, I battled unbelievable tummy cramps. Those types of cramps that makes you feel like you have just been poisoned with the most potent poison and about to die. They were so painful I lost concentrations most of the time.

The cramps were followed by horrible nausea and vomiting (Hyperemesis Gravidarum).  My tummy practically wasn’t accepting anything inside it or keeping it. And so my nutrition mostly came from drugs.

  • In my third to sixth month, I lost my great voice. My once envious voice became frail and broken followed by a failing eyesight that keeps getting blurry as my pregnancy advances.

My voice became so thunderous, I could practically wake anything dead if I yell hard.

I managed to keep a failing eyesight as I beg God frantically everyday not to let me go blind.

  • During the 6th to 8th month of my pregnancy, I battled tirelessly with hair loss and Relaxin (pregnancy hormone) that was eating away my bone density.

All my hair seems to be falling off as I was also leaping my way everywhere.

My bones were so frail, I sometimes feared it won’t be able to keep me upright anymore.

  • In my 8th to delivery time, I suffered blastful baby kicks which did really bad things to my stretch out and thinning belly skin. I also had a permanent feeling of the babies coming out as they both took spaces to invaded the tip of my cervix. The pains that shut through me all through those periods was better left imagined.

In my final month, I suffered Anxiety and Depression.

I battled a constant feeling that one of my twins was not okay.

I could not stand to look at my body as it was gradually becoming a complete ruin.

My once great hair all fell off.

My skin was covered in endless spots. Hyper pigmentation stayed glued to me and forced me to romance with it, subsequently a once light skinned “me” became dark skinned.

My voice cracked so bad you will hate to hear me talking.

My knees wobbled, and it was very difficult for me to stand upright and walk.

At the peak of my anxiety, I would run to any house that just birth twins to say congratulation. And I would cry more than the bereaved for every twin lost. But in all, I thank the Almighty God. Who snatched me from the shackles of death and gave me a happy ending.

  •  And in May 2017, I gave birth to two beautiful and very healthy twin girls. In the end of everything I learnt varying lessons.

I valued a child more.

I cherished a child even more.

I understood that pregnancy goes onto a very different degree of hardship for every woman.

I learnt that a child becomes more precious when we have it when we are ready for it.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a pregnancy condition characterized by severe vomiting, nausea, weight loss, electrolyte disturbance and weakness.

Many women experience morning sickness (nausea) during pregnancy, which is generally harmless but uncomfortable and goes way within 12 weeks.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) is an extreme form of morning sickness.


In other to get proper treatment and prompt medical interventions, every pregnant woman should be able to different between the two.


  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Symptoms usually subsides at 12 weeks; sooner or later.
  • Nausea and vomiting that is not severe and generally uncomfortable
  • Sleepiness and general fatigue
  • Breast tenderness
  • Spotting

While the typical signs and symptoms of Hyperemesis Gravidarum includes:

  • Very severe nausea and vomiting that can prevent any food from staying in your tummy.
  • A strong aversion for food.
  • Weight loss.
  • Extreme fatigue.

  • rapid heart rate.
  • and loss of skin elasticity.

While in some cases or rather in my case I suffered other illnesses and symptoms, like hair loss, blurry vision, change of voice, severe tummy cramps, joint tenderness and pains that affected my knees.


In almost all cases of severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum, hospitalization is usually required. Some common medical treatments includes

  1. Intravenous fluids (IV) which is used to restore hydration, nutrients, vitamins and electrolyte in the body.
  2. Tube feeding – which is sometimes- Nasogastric; restores nutrients through a tube passing through the nose into the stomach. Or Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy- which restores nutrients through a tube passing through the abdomen into the stomach.

Herbs like ginger or peppermint or the mixture of both is very useful in reducing symptoms of Nausea and vomiting.

well in most Hyperemesis Gravidarum cases a pregnant mother naturally is on a bed rest condition because the illness is so severe that you can not work or do anything meaningful all day long. It is also advisable to be cautious of too much bed time as it can cause other issues such as muscles loss due to inactivity.


  1. Try acupressure: This is usually done by locating and pressing firmly the pressure point at the middle of the inner wrist. This pressure helps to reduce nausea and vomiting. What causes Hyperemesis Gravidarum

The family size is one of the most worrisome issue in the world today.

So many of us get it so wrong with the idea of number of children to resource. While some couples believe that continuous pregnancy is what keep the husband and wife connection strong overtime others carry religious believe even to a destructive level in marriage.

This is an advice for both groups.

If you are a woman who thinks by getting pregnant every year for your husband keeps you close together, then you have just constructed a destructive path for yourself. Let’s be frank here, nothing keeps a man tied to a woman, only God does! So many men do not keep the believe that they should really keep along with their growing children. Often times women single-handedly raise children.

That you even keep getting pregnant and growing, worn-out, ugly and disorganized put the man you are trying to hold, off from you. That aside, Have you thought of your health? What if you die during this yearly birth thing, who will look after your children? While it is really true that it is almost impossible to see someone, who will truly look after your children when you die.

what if your husband leaves you and the children? (which is very possible) how will you be able to take care of this children properly that they wont’ turn around and hate you when they grow up to life of constant unfulfilled wants.

Having lots of children is no child’s play. You take care of a child till you actually drop dead. No matter how old a child is, they need their parent. Have you thought of what use, you will become when you have children who constantly are in need, and you really can’t do anything for them because you are disabled. So many children in the world today fail to be useful because they did not have the moral and financial back up parents ought to provide.

Even when we witness how decision’s like this played over time, still most 21st Century parents don’t get to do better than our grandparents. Our grandparents who gave birth to so many children with the hope that they will in turn take care of them. Our grandparents who believe children are wealth even when they didn’t send them to school. Our grandparents who can’t wait to marry out their girl child so that she becomes one mouth less. So, she can bring money for the family.

Forgetting that marriage  is a challenge and test for some. Also forgetting that some daughters need their parents most in marriage.

If you are the man who is in a relationship with a woman who keeps having children when it is clearly becoming risky and dangerous, then, know that this risk will be carried by all, including the child who will be born into a life of complete risk. Be wise and man-up with your decision.

Are you the woman who heads to a husband who says no “birth control”, then, know that such men suffer from low ego and inferiority complex which sooner they will overcome and want a life different from what they have with you- by then, what will happen to you? you will be left all alone; broke, with a handful of children and an aging body.

Religious belief

In the second case, if you say your religion do not permit birth control, then let me tell you what I know about God.

God says he will put on no man a burden that he cannot carry.

God will never support giving birth to children who will either die of starvation, illness or become useless or suffer intermittently through out their lives. God also encourage that you help yourself before seeking divine interventions. Which means when you keep having children with the belief that God will cater for them, then it means you are relying on begging constantly for help which God himself does not support and also if everyone intends to keep begging for help to take care of their children then soon everyone will be broke and handicapped.

Most I know, will purposely target their friends or relative with fewer children to ask for help to cater for their children. I wonder if they think they are fools to have fewer children, or they do not know how to worship God properly, or they do not know how to enjoy sex properly. Or perhaps they do not know the importance of children. If they refuse to help you don’t get angry, because few 21st century parents know the importance of resources to children. Their resources are kept to better their lives and their children, which is a great decision.


Children are divine blessing. How we plan them, how we prepare for them while relying on divine interventions to keep them alive and safe matters.

Self discipline, life purpose and self-worth all play a role in the quantity and quality of children every parent desire to have.

Grow a large family only when you are emotionally and mentally ready for them.

Countless parents are out there praying for children. Most of them are buoyant enough to better the life of a child. It will be a wise decision to give out a child you can’t look after for adoption, rather than allow them wallow in endless poverty.

Those with our grandparents or the 21st Century parents. While I strongly believe that our self-worth holds strong when we decide to take control of our lives and not rely on someone or our partners to run it even to a destructive result.

So, choose your decision wisely when it comes to a child. Children are not plaything. They are not to be used to test love. They are not to be used to gratify marital insecurities. They are not meant to be used to leverage marital competitions.

And if you do not believe they ARE to be used as such, then, do not allow anyone to make your use them as such.

Is your bathroom hand dryers as safe as you think? Here is what scientist thinks.

According to ifiscience, in 2014, a team of researchers from the University of Leeds announced disturbing news concerning the “no touch jet-air dryers” in public bathrooms. The team made a public announcement stating that these air dryers are full of bacteria.

They found out that these increasingly popular device blast bacteria from people’s poorly washed hands into the air and on all nearby surfaces in large volumes which means you can possibly go into a public toilet and walk out of it covered in other people’s germs.

According to the lab-based experiments, bathroom hand dryers introduced 27 times more bacteria into the air than the good old fashioned paper or hand towels and these bacteria spread everywhere at a speed of just 15 minutes.

According to ifiscience, a real life experiment reported by the journal of hospital infections was carried out by Mark Willox and his colleagues who set out to examine how hand drying methods promote bacteria spread in hospital bathrooms.bathroom hand dryers

The investigation was conducted in 3 city hospitals – Leeds, Paris, Udine, later Italy over a period of 12-weeks.

In the experiments, two restrooms used by patients, staff and visitors are selected, and each was set up to use only a set dryer or paper towel. And every day, for four weeks, air swab samples were collected for each bathroom, then after a  2 weeks pause in collection, each restroom were set again to offer alternate drying method.

The process was then repeated three times. The results from these cultures reveal a greater amount of bacteria in all of the restrooms where hand dryers were being used. The most dramatic difference were seen between the surface of the jet dryer itself and all the surface of the paper towel dispenser.

The reporter stated that in Udine, the dryer was covered in 100 times more bacteria, 33-fold higher in Paris and 22 folds in Leeds.

And in the UK restroom, the deadly methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) bacterium was found three times more frequently in the bathroom using jet dryer, than those offering paper towels. Other penicillin- resistant bacteria like the Cephalosporin (known as ESBL- producing organism) and species of pathogenic enterococci here also found in those restrooms.

While in Parisian and Italian hospitals, few pathogenic or drug resistant bacteria were encountered with each hand drying methods.

The team concluded the experiments by stating that “electric hand dryers are not suitable to be used in clinical setting and as such all existing (NHS) infection control building guidance needs to be amended and strengthened”. Willox team. They added that, there is no justification for their use in any public setting given the risk they present.

Based on earlier research, some French health officials, recently updated their guidelines and discourage use of hand dryers in clinical wards.

Willox explained that the troubles starts because some people do not wash their hands properly, in effects the dryer creates aerosol that contaminates the toilet room, the dryer itself, sinks, floors and other surfaces. And this is also dependent on where the dryer is sited.

He however concluded that paper towels absorb water and microbes left in the hands and if they are to be disposed of properly, then there is a lesser chance of air contamination which them.


In my own little conclusion, I think everyone should be patient enough to wash their hands properly after easing themselves. I mean we could really enjoy the comfort hand dryers provide if we do.

I really love hand dryer and I believe, “everyone does”

It will be such a shame if it becomes a health hazard because of some avoidable carelessness.

  18. Stop trying to chase respect haughtily from people. Just learn to embrace inner disciplined, then respect will come to you naturally and stay.

  20. Stay away from matters that do not concern you. You will live longer.
